Decreased Ovarian Capacity

Every woman is born with a certain number of ovos in her ovaries. The woman uses these ovos throughout her life and the number of ovos decreases with age and at the same time the quality of the remaining ovos deteriorates. Therefore, fertility decreases due to the decrease in the number and quality of ovos with age. Recent studies have shown that the ovos in the ovary begin to decrease towards the age of 30s, after which the decline accelerates after 35s and reaches the end of 40 years. Therefore, the period with the highest fertility possibility is between 25-30 years. Ovos in the ovaries will eventually run short, sooner or later. In some cases, ovos are exhausted at a very young age, which is called early menopause. It is not possible to add ovos to the ovaries again from the outside or to replicate and replenish the ovos there, there is no such treatment. Therefore, pregnancy must be achieved with the existing ovos. What we can do with assisted reproductive techniques is to take existing ovos and try to achieve pregnancy with them. If there are no ovos or poor quality ones, there is not much that can be done.

Ultrasonography is the best method to assess ovarian capacity. By ultrasonography, we can obtain information about the ovo reserve by looking at the number of small ovo sacs called follicles in the ovaries. In addition, a hormone test called AMH ovarian capacity is accurately evaluated. As the ovo decreases in the ovaries, the AMH value decreases. In addition, FSH and E2 hormone tests, which are examined in the blood for 2-3 days of menstruation, are also used to evaluate ovarian capacity. Here too, FSH increases as the ovo reserve decreases.

If ultrasonography and tests show that the ovarian capacity, or in other words the ovo, is reduced, you should seek ways to achieve pregnancy as soon as possible and seek help for IVF treatment. Otherwise, there is no method that can achieve pregnancy when the ovo ruh short. There are many different drug alternatives during IVF treatment, but none have superiority over the other. The most useful method here is to repeatedly test in vitro fertilization for some patients.

Smoking should be quit to keep the ovulation capacity constant for at least a period of time. There is no clear evidence that drugs such as DHEA increase ovo capacity.

Ovarian capacity may not only decrease with natural aging. During ovarian surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, ovarian reserves are negatively affected.
